There is no flat rate. Premiums for an Arizona dental practice depend on your annual revenue, number of providers and staff, square footage and build-out value, the equipment you own (imaging, CEREC, lasers, autoclaves), your claims history, and the liability limits you choose. A single-chair practice in Peoria and a six-operatory group in Scottsdale will price very differently. Because we are independent, we quote your practice with several A-rated carriers and show you the options side by side, so you see real numbers rather than an estimate.
An independent or compounding pharmacy in Arizona typically needs general liability, druggist professional liability (which responds to dispensing errors and wrong-dosage claims), commercial property covering your inventory and fixtures, cyber liability for patient records, workers' compensation for your pharmacists and technicians, and often crime coverage for controlled-substance and cash exposure. Compounding pharmacies usually need higher professional liability limits because of the added product risk.
Diagnostic and clinical labs carry professional liability for erroneous or delayed results, general liability, and commercial property with equipment breakdown for analyzers, centrifuges and refrigeration. Spoilage coverage matters if you store temperature-sensitive specimens or reagents, and cyber liability protects the patient data in your LIS. Labs that courier specimens should also review commercial auto and cargo coverage.
Allied health practices — physical therapy, chiropractic, optometry, audiology, behavioral health and med spas — generally carry professional liability matched to their specialty, general liability for patient injuries in the treatment area, property coverage for tables, modalities and equipment, workers' compensation for therapists and front-desk staff, and cyber liability for patient records. Limits and rates vary meaningfully by specialty, so the policy should be built around your scope of practice.
Yes. Arizona law requires workers' compensation for businesses with employees, including part-time staff. A pharmacy, dental or medical office, lab or allied health clinic employing pharmacists, hygienists, assistants, lab technicians, nurses, therapists or front-desk staff generally needs a policy in force. Owners and officers may be able to elect out in some situations, which is worth reviewing with an agent.
A cyber liability policy can respond to a breach of protected health information, typically covering patient notification costs, credit monitoring, forensic investigation, legal and regulatory defense, and business interruption while systems are restored. Coverage for regulatory fines varies by carrier and by what is insurable under state law. Standard general liability and property policies exclude these losses, which is why healthcare practices add cyber as a separate coverage.
A BOP bundles general liability, commercial property and business income interruption into one package, usually at a lower combined cost than separate policies. For most small and mid-size Arizona practices it forms the base of the program, with professional liability, cyber, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage added alongside. Not every practice qualifies for a BOP, and eligibility depends on the carrier.
Yes. They cover different exposures. General liability responds to bodily injury and property damage, such as a patient slipping in your waiting room. Professional liability (malpractice or errors and omissions) responds to claims arising from the care and professional services you provide. A general liability policy will not pay a treatment-related claim, so healthcare practices carry both.
Most landlords require a certificate of insurance naming them as an additional insured before you take possession of a medical, dental or pharmacy suite. Once your policy is bound we can issue the certificate, usually the same business day, with the limits and endorsements your lease specifies. Send us the insurance section of the lease and we will confirm your limits meet it before you sign.
